DAY-3

Sergio Garcia carded 75 to slide to nine over but was disqualified after signing an incorrect scorecard

Scott Verplank was the sacrificial lamb in the final group with Woods - and dropped back after a double on 12th
World number three Phil Mickelson's woes continued as he slumped to a 75 for seven over

South African Ernie Els was back on the major trail and carded a 69 for one under par

American Woody Austin mounted half of the main challenge to Woods, ending on three under

John Daly slipped back into the pack with a 73 which included four bogeys in the last seven holes

Geoff Ogilvy briefly challenged Woods on Friday but fell away on Saturday with a 74 for one over

But it was Stephen Ames who got closest to Woods, with a final-hole birdie helping him to four under

Tiger Woods played within himself to card a 69 and take a three-shot lead into the final day

DAY-2

Tiger Woods proves to be in a class of his own as he surges to a two-shot lead with a sublime 63

Former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy matches Tiger Woods as both players reach five under

Tiger Woods launches a trademark charge and takes a share of the lead at four under after the
13th

John Daly comes out all guns blazing but his cavalier approach misfires and he ends on 73 - level par overall

Ireland's Paul McGinley is another big mover and matches Verplank's four-under 66 to rocket to level par

Local star Verplank then birdies 17 to get to four under and leads on his own when Ames bogeys the last

But Ames edges clear at four under before having to settle for a three under in the finish

Canada's Stephen Ames feels the heat on another sweltering day in Tulsa

Englishman Ian Poulter is unable to launch a charge and slips back to four over with a 73

World number three Phil Mickelson is made to battle for his 69 and inches to two over

Overnight leader Graeme Storm endures an up- and- down day. ending with a six- over 76 for one over overall

US Open champion Angel Cabrera is an early starter and cards a level par 70 - 11 better than Thursday

DAY-1

Giant fans provide some relief from the soaring heat as players prepare for the start of the USPGA Championship in Tulsa

Bradley Dredge of Wales is one of the opening trio on the course as the tournament gets under way on Thursday

Camilo Villegas of Colombia enjoys a rare spot of shade on the 10th and moves into an early lead with a birdie on the 14th

Sergio Garcia of Spain also makes a bright start and moves to two under, before wresting the lead from Villegas

Defending champion Tiger Woods birdies his opening hole but struggles badly on the back nine to finish on one over par

Colin Montgomerie fires three early birdies for a share of the lead but blows his good work with three bogeys to end +2

Darren Clarke double bogeys the 10th and slumps to a seven-over 77 in the stifling heat

The lead changes hands at regular intervals, while Ernie Els produces a mixed bag to close off the pace

Markus Brier and Arron Oberholser cope best with the heat and take a one-shot lead over Woods and Rich Beem

Brier then drops a shot on the sixth and joins Rich Beem and John Daly just behind Oberholser, who leads at four under


Oberholser takes cover under a towel as he tries to defend his narrow lead from the chasing pack

Former champion John Daly, though, birdies 13 to get to four under and snatch the lead

but when John Daly drops back. England's Lee Westwood joins him on three under before he double bogeys 17 to end one under

Unheralded Englishman Graeme Storm then surges to the top, reaching five under through 11 before parring his way home
